About Boyar Gifts NYC

Boyar Gifts is an independent gift shop in NYC's West Village, founded by sisters Tali and Michelle -- two former pharmacists who traded prescriptions for profanity-laden plates and decided New York needed a gift shop with an actual personality.

The first Boyar boutique opened in 2017 in Manhattan's Gramercy Park neighborhood. It didn't take long to outgrow it. The flagship moved to 388 Bleecker Street in the West Village, where it's become a go-to destination for New Yorkers and visitors who are done buying the same boring candle for everyone they know.

The shop stocks funny gifts, NYC-themed gifts, pop culture gifts, and intentionally offensive gifts -- the kind of stuff that makes people actually laugh when they open it. Think profanity mugs, snarky greeting cards, Sopranos merch, Seinfeld tchotchkes, swear word coloring books, and gifts for people who think "New York attitude" is a compliment.

Tali is also a bestselling novelist, so yes -- you can get signed copies of her books here too. Because of course you can.

Boyar Gifts ships across the US and offers gift wrapping, so you can send something genuinely funny to someone in any timezone without leaving your couch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Boyar Gifts specializes in funny, irreverent, and NYC-themed gifts -- the kind that are actually worth giving. The shop carries profanity gifts, pop culture gifts (Sopranos, Seinfeld, Sex & the City, Friends, Taxi Driver), snarky greeting cards, novelty mugs and plates, swear word coloring books, politically incorrect socks, and a rotating selection of gifts that capture New York's specific flavor of humor. If it would make a jaded New Yorker crack a smile, it's probably on the shelf.
Boyar Gifts is located at 388 Bleecker Street in the West Village, Manhattan, New York City. The West Village flagship is the main retail location. You can also shop the full collection online at boyargifts.com with shipping available across the US.
Most gift shops sell things that are fine. Boyar Gifts sells things that are funny. The curation is intentional -- every product is chosen because it has a point of view, whether that's NYC pride, pop culture obsession, profanity as a love language, or humor that actually lands. The shop was founded by two sisters who wanted to shop somewhere like this and couldn't find it, so they built it themselves. That origin story shows up in every shelf.
Boyar Gifts was founded by sisters Tali and Michelle Boyar. Both have backgrounds in pharmacy -- which means they spent years dispensing things that make people feel better before pivoting to gifts that make people laugh, which, honestly, same thing. Tali is also a bestselling author, and signed copies of her books are available in store and online.
